Gizmo is a 2-year-old, 12-pound mixed breed who is looking for her perfect person, and yes, we mean that literally. Gizmo is the kind of dog who will decide you are her whole world, and once she does, she will be your shadow, your couch buddy, and your blanket-sharing bestie. But let's be real with you, because Gizmo deserves the right home more than she deserves a quick adoption. She is a work in progress. New people and new places make her nervous, and when she's scared, her first instinct is to tell you about it. She's not aggressive; she's anxious, and there's a big difference. She needs an adopter who understands that distinction and is patient enough to let her set the pace. Here's what we know she loves: snuggling on the couch with a blanket, hanging out with calm kids, and being near her people. Here's what she's still working on: leash confidence, basic commands, and trusting that new humans are actually pretty great. Gizmo does well with large dogs and would likely do best in a home with another calm canine companion to help her feel secure. We'd recommend older or calmer kids. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but it isn't required; she does fine on a tie out once she's comfortable. She is potty-trained and kennel-trained. She sleeps in her kennel overnight like a champ.
