First to check out something new, whether it's a human, an old dog, felines, odd noises, or food/treats! We are working on him not telling the neighbors down the street how excited he is at feeding time (happy barks); even his brother Tortuga tries to settle him! Sequoia loves a challenge! The big Kong is no match for him, and snuffle mats are apparently timed events!! Kennel time is great, unless he's spent too much time at the pool (drinking) or he needs the bathroom one more time; he will let you know! Just say kennel, and he'll hop right in, most of the time, and expects a small treat. Still working on independence from his brother. He walks fairly well on leash in the backyard, not ready for the real world yet. He does well with redirecting if playtime gets too wild, working on him letting other animals get affection or treats without him interrupting. He is doing well learning "sit" and understanding we need to "sit" and "wait" to earn whatever is next (eating/going outside/etc)! Sequoia is interested in, maybe confused by, the cats. Outdoors, he will chase only if the outside kitty starts the race. The resident dog is kinda old, so interactions are limited due to energy levels. He has not been around small children. This sweet feisty boy is sure to win you over with his zest for life! *AHCR cannot guarantee any breed/possible breed of the dogs in our care or the size they will be full grown. All of our animals are fixed, microchipped, started on age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, and on a flea/tick and heart worm preventative prior to adoption. Please note that all of our animals are in foster homes, and you must have an approved application to meet any of them unless at a scheduled meet and greet event.
